Using the Training Design Manager

The Training Design Manager (TDM) enables authorized users to design and structure courses or syllabi prior to automating content development. This interface aligns closely with Systems Approach to Training (SAT) models and provides a configurable table that mirrors the platform’s core content hierarchy.

Requirements

  • You must be a Workspace Admin or Super Admin
  • You must have access to the Administration view

Accessing the Training Design Manager

  1. From the Dashboard, select the ☰ Hamburger Menu
  2. Choose Administration
  3. In the left-hand menu, select MAXRES Constructor
  4. Locate the field labelled TNA Rows and click Manage

This opens the Training Design Manager, where you can design your training structure in detail before triggering content generation.

Table Structure & Features

The Training Design table is built to reflect your preferred SAT model and can be customized via support request to the MAXRES team.

Default Hierarchy

The first four columns typically align with MAXRES Construct’s instructional structure:

Table ColumnCorresponds To
Column 1Lesson
Column 2Page (EO)
Column 3Article (TP)
Column 4KLP

Additional columns may include metadata, job roles, or other custom fields associated with each KLP.

The top navigation bar of the TDM provides the following tools:

  • Options (Cog Icon):
Set a base prompt for AI-generated KLP content using dynamic tokens:

    • #KLP_TITLE
    • #COURSE_TITLE
    • #LO_TITLE
    • #TP_TITLE
These tokens are replaced at runtime to support context-aware AI output.
  • Clean (Trash Icon):
    Clears the entire table

  • JSON:
Import a Training Design file in .json format

  • Import:
Import a Training Design document in .csv format

  • Export:
Export the current Training Design document as .csv

  • Sync:
Save (sync) the current table to the platform

  • Exit:
    Return to the Administration view

Managing the Table

  • Reordering Rows:
Use the drag handle on the far left of each row to reposition it.

  • Editing Cells:
All cells can be edited directly within the table interface.

  • Row Actions (Right Side of Each Row):

    • Duplicate row above
    • Duplicate row below
    • Delete row
  • Adding Rows:
Use the + button in the bottom-right corner to add a new row at the end of the table.

warning

The following actions cannot be undone in the current version of the platform:

  • Deleting a row
  • Cleaning the entire table
  • Importing a new Training Design document (overwrites previous content)

These limitations are known and will be addressed in future platform updates.

By using the Training Design Manager, instructional designers can efficiently construct and structure their lessons in alignment with instructional goals, while enabling powerful AI-driven content generation downstream.
